Writer with strong Erris ties publishes first book

An English writer who has strong family ties with Erris has just released her first book, a heart-warming tale of discovery, entitled Just Us Two: Good Wing Discovery.
In the book, Rosalie Marsh, whose real name is Christine Prescott, recounts the international adventures she and her husband, Ned, embarked on with the help of their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle.

Author Christine Prescott whose pen name is Rosalie Marsh has strong family ties with Erris.

There is also an emotional account of how she discovered her family roots in Ballycroy.
Erris readers will be interested to know that Rosalie’s Grandma Ellen was a Leneghan of Knockmoyleen and her Granddad was a Sweeney from Shranamanragh.
Says Rosalie: ‘Two of his brothers, Patrick and Francis, also came over, married two sisters and moved to Llay (about 3 miles from where we live) near Wrexham North Wales.  There is lots about them in the first chapter.’

Divided into chapters that read like short stories, Just Us Two opens with Rosalie briefly explaining how she and Ned came to be the proud owners of their Gold Wing, something that Ned had longed for patiently over the years.

After acquiring the Gold Wing, Ned kept a promise to Rosalie and they embarked on the motorcycle to Ireland two weeks later.

Rosalie describes Just Us Two as “not only a tale of discovery and adventure into the unknown to explore new horizons by a middle aged couple who had never crossed the water to tour abroad before; it is also a tale of courage and triumph over adversity as, following illness when it appeared that travelling days were over, we made mental and practical adaptations in order to continue to do what we could while we could and then we would not say ‘if only…’.

Join Ned and Rosalie and they go coast-to-coast in France and Spain, cross the French and Swiss Alps, follow the Champagne Route, ride through the sun-scorched earth of the Sierras to follow a dream, brave torrential thunderstorms in the Andorran mountains, praying for safety as they ride the Gold Wing into the unknown and in the intense heat into the Dolomites. Follow their thrills – and spills! – in the pages of Just Us Two.

Rosalie Marsh grew up in Lancashire. She now resides in North Wales with her husband, Ned, and her family. She has worked in the fields of sales management and further education.
