Mayo-based business, Bee Green Dry Cleaning, has received the title of ‘One to Watch’ in the SCCUL Entrepreneur awards in the Professional Services category. Rita and Stephen Langan, proprietors of Bee Green Dry Cleaning, the first professional environmentally friendly garment cleaning service in Ireland, attended the awards ceremony in the Clayton Hotel, Galway.

The guest of honour Minister for Research and Innovation Sean Sherlock commended the entrants on their endeavours.

The 2011 SCCUL Entrepreneur of the Year awards are organised by SCCUL Enterprises Ltd in conjunction with St. Columba’s Credit Union, Galway and an expert judging panel of Galway business owners. There were over 87 entrants in this year’s competition and awards given in seven categories. Chairman of the judging panel, Declan Dooley, President of Galway Chamber of Commerce commended the positivity of all 87 entrants. ‘One of the most encouraging aspects of the SCCUL Awards is the amazing spirit and enthusiasm of the people who entered,’ he said.
