Bonniconlon GAA Bord na nÓg held their annual presentation night in the Fr. Peyton Centre Attymass with Mayo senior football team captain, Andy Moran, as special guest. Andy conducted a training session on Moyvilla FC's astroturf for the young Bonniconlon U14 and U16 players before the presentation began. A huge crowd turned out and were treated to entertainment from the Bofield Band, and Della Ginley and her staff at the Fr. Peyton Centre provided a wonderful range of refeshments.

Ballina Stephenites GAA Club has raised €6,261.20 for the Irish Cancer Society through the annual Shave or Dye charity fundraiser in association with Today FM. A group of Ballina Stephenites players, club officers, members, supporters and friends gathered in the Clubhouse on February 23rd last and donated their hair in aid of this great cause.

Frank Burke, President of the Connaught Council of the GAA, launched the Moy Davitts GAA Club 5 year strategic plan in Foxford. Mr Burke praised in particular the emphasis on developing coaching for underage teams and ensuring that all activities were accessible to all club members from the youngest to the oldest.

Local charities to benefit from Mayo v Dublin clash

The refixture of the Mayo v Dublin Alliance Football Division 1 League game postponed due to fog in February will take place in Elvery’s MacHale Park, Castlebar on Saturday next, March 31st at 7pm.  All supporters entering Elvery’s MacHale Park will be issued with a ticket as they pass through the turnstiles.  They will have an opportunity to make a voluntary contribution if they wish to do so. 

Bohola Moy Davitts are launching their  Club plan at 8pm on Friday, 30th March, in the Mayfly Hotel, Foxford. The club is the first GAA Club in County Mayo to complete this project and hope to bring all the plans to fruition in the coming years with the help of the community, club members and players. All are welcome to come and hear what the future holds for the popular club.

CLG Chill tSeadhna powered to victory in the Mayo Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta Junior and Senior football finals at Tom Langan Park in Ballycastle over the weekend with two polished performances to bring the silverware for both grades back to Bangor. The final score in the Mayo Senior Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta Final was Cill tSeadhna 1-15 - Tuar Mhic Éadaigh 0-09.

Ballina Stephenites Shave or Dye 2012 on Friday night was a huge success. Over 30 people volunteered to have their heads shaved and dyed for the cause and helped to raise over €5,000 (and still counting) for the Irish Cancer Society. From players to officers to family members and supporters, everyone got involved on the night.

Former Mayo manager John O’Mahony was on hand to officially launch the 2012 Mayo GAA Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta tournament, which takes place in CLG
