The six simple step Community Harm Reducation Initiative is being rolled out by community liaison workers attached to the Western Region Drug Task Force across Mayo, Roscommon and Galway.
The design and thinking behind the initiative is based on tried and tested models already proving successful in select towns and areas across the three counties.
In Mayo, Achill has been ahead of the game and has concentrated on raising awareness of the connection between misuse of substances and mental health, for example.
On the same day, SupportMe.ie, a new one-stop website for people who want to find out in click about the huge range of support services that are available to them in the West of Ireland will also go live.
Both initiatives will be launched at The Quad Youth Centre, Circular Road, Roscommon Town at 11:30 am.
