Ideal for those who would like to brush up on a bit of conversational Irish, the Lón Gaeilge offers an enjoyable afternoon, whilst speaking Irish in a relaxed and informal setting.
Already established in Castlebar, Ballinrobe and Ballina, the Lón Gaeilge has been very well received, and has successfully formed a network of Irish speakers across the county.
Organiser Oonagh Ní Chéileachair said, Unfortunately a lot of people may have had a bad experience of learning Irish at school, and the idea of trying to learn it again can be quite intimidating, not to mind time consuming. It's because of this that Lón Gaeilge has been so successful; there is no homework or mention of verbs, just a casual chat over a spot of lunch.
