The Erris Players are presenting 'Tarry Flynn', a drama based on the autobiography of Patrick Kavanagh, next Friday, March 30th, in Aras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet, at 8 pm.

Jimmy Gralton’s Dancehall is a celebration through art, theatre, music and dance of the vision and spirit of Leitrim’s Jimmy Gralton and can be seen in Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet, on Saturday, 24 March, at 8.30pm. Jim Gralton was a socilaist who holds the distinction of being the only Irishman ever to be deported from this country.

Western Drama Festival opens in Tubbercurry

Tubbercurry's 69th Western Drama Festival, bringing together the best of the country's amateur drama groups. commenced over the weekend with the local Phoenix Players production of Martin McDonagh's acclaimed " The Cripple of Innishmaan".  The week-long festival concludes on next Saturday 10th March and features the cream of Ireland's amateur acting talent.

The Parke Arts and Drama Group, winners of the Mayo County Council Drama Award 2011 for its production of ‘Cupid Wore Skirts’ in 2011, returns to the stage this March with its 2012 production – 'Fortunes and Misfortunes', a side-splitting 3-Act comedy by Westmeath playwright, Jimmy Keary.

Westport actress stars in new RTE Storyland competition

Grace Kelly, the Westport actress, plays the lead role in “Hysteria” part in RTÉ’s latest Storyland competition.  The show is one of eight different series which have been selected from hundreds of applicants to take part in  RTÉ’s popular online film competition.

Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet is staging a performance of Tom Crean 'Antarctic Explorer' for one performance only on the March th at 8.30pm.  Experience Aidan Dooley’s award winning one-man play as it tells the heroic tale of Tom Crean (1877 – 1938), the intrepid, Irish Antarctic explorer and the only man to serve with Scott and Shackleton on three famous expeditions.

For a great night of theatrical pleasure, look no further than Peter Sheridan’s acclaimed one-man show “47 Roses” at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Thursday 9th February at 8.00pm. Warm, disarming, funny, poignant and hugely engaging, “47 Roses” is a show devised from Peter Sheridan’s memoir of the same name, performed by the author himself.
