The series will begin on Claremorris Community Radio on Wednesday, 25th January at 4pm.
Erris FM Community Radio wins award for series on Irish outlaws
Iorras FM has won a CRAOL Achievement Award at the 2011 awards ceremony for the Community Radio sector, held in Athlone. The Belmullet-based community radio station received a Distinction in the Commissioned Programme Category for the 10-part series “Stand and Deliver – The Irish Outlaw in Story and Song”.
Claremorris Community Radio documentary to focus on sexuality
“Sexual Healing”, a new documentary focusing on the issue of sexuality, will be aired on Claremorris Community Radio on Friday January 20th at 1pm and repeated on Monday January 23rd at 8pm. Produced by Claremorris Community Radio and presented by Kathy Burke, this unique documentary features interviews from co-founder of the postgraduate programme in sexuality studies at Dublin City University, Dr Mel Duffy, Galway based psycho-analyst, John Foden, and practitioner of sexual medicine at the Everyman Centre, Dublin, Dr Tom Kelly.
Castlebar journalist to document Mayo's contribution to helping Haitian orphans
A Mayo journalist has been awarded funding under a prestigious media fund, run by Irish Aid, the Government’s programme of assistance to developing countries. Fiona McGarry, who is from Castlebar, was awarded funds to travel to Haiti to highlight the plight suffered by orphans with disabilities and the contribution made by the people of Mayo from fundraising efforts after the 2010 earthquake.
Claremorris Radio documentary on drug addiction in Mayo
'From Narcotics to Knock', a new hour-long documentary focusing on drug and addiction problems in rural Ireland, will be aired on Claremorris Community Radio this Friday, 6th January, at 1pm, and repeated on Wednesday, 11th January, at 4pm. The documentary was produced by Claremorris Community Radio volunteers and staff, and presented by Tommy O'Connor.
