Crossmolina Pantomime Troupe, in association with Crossmolina Festival Committee, have put together a swashbuckling tale that will have you laughing in the aisles!

The panto takes place in  Gortnor Abbey Secondary School Hall on Friday, January 6th at 8pm; Saturday, 7th at 8.45pm; and a matinee on Sunday, the 8th, at 5pm.

The infamous pirate, Long John Silver (John Cooney), set sail with his huge treasure over 20 years ago and hasn’t been seen since.

Captain Redbeard (Sean Keary) and his band of bad pirates: Gunpowder Gertie (Marcella Connor), Cross Bones (Peter Heffron),

Simon le Skull (Derek Hopkins) and Benjamin Dover (Patrick Rochford) have been searching for that treasure and they will not let anything get in their way of finding it! They dock at Gortnor Abbey Pier and enlist the help of Blind Bart (Danny McDonnell) who thinks he has located IT.

Long John Silver’s sister, Queen Winifred of Keenagh (Dessie Moyles), has recently taken over Deel Castle and converted it into the local pub. She is assisted by her nephew, Seamie (Declan McAndrew), and two barmaids (Nessa Timlin & Victoria Gordon).

When Seamie is given a mysterious letter by a stranger (Liam Cawley) who visits the pub, it starts an extraordinary series of events that lead him to treasures far beyond gold & silver!

He and his auntie enlist the help of the Captain of the ‘Drunken Mermaid,’ (Marian Howley), and her crew: First Mate, Bertha (Kay Loftus); Shellina (Bernadette McHale), Stubbley Herbert (Ian Callaghan) and Baldy Eagle (Francis Gilroy).

They set sail on a magical adventure that leads them through cannibals and sword fights!

But who will get to the treasure first?

The only way to find out is be at Gortnor Abbey Secondary School Hall on January 6, 7 or 8, 2012!  Arrrrggghhh!
