€50,000 funding for Áthas School in Kiltimagh

Mayo Fine Gael TD, John O’Mahony has welcomed the announcement that Mayo Autism Action, which is based in the Áthas school in Kiltimagh, has been granted €50,000 from the National Lottery and the Department of Health. The funding will go towards the cost of maintaining and extending the existing services.

The Kiltimagh Remembered series of books by local author, Basil Burke chronicle historical events from Kiltimagh, and the surrounding areas from the 19th  century until recent times. The Park Hotel in Kiltimagh will be the venue for the Gameshow Challenge Christmas Party Nights on Friday, December 9th and 16th to support Western Care Association, a well-loved charity that provides services and supports for Mayo people with special seeds in community settings throughout the county.

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD and Mayo Fine Gael TDs, Michelle Mulherin and, John O’Mahony, have welcomed additional funding of €620,000 for the Bohola-Kiltimagh Road.

Kiltimagh man supports Friends of MS Care Centre Appeal

The Friends of the MS Care Centre Campaign, supported locally by Micheal Smyth, a person with Multiple Sclerosis from Kiltimagh, County Mayo, has launched a drive to raise €250,000. The funds needed are critical to the MS Care Centre, Ireland’s only dedicated respite and therapy centre for people with MS, and will maintain the specialist nursing programme, therapeutic services and allow urgent repairs and renovations.

The Mayo Youth Tour takes place in Kiltimagh over the Summer Bank Holiday weekend from Saturday, July 30 to Monday, August 1st.
