'Kiltimagh Remembered: Volume 4' is now on sale. The Kiltimagh Remembered series of books by local author, Basil Burke chronicle historical events from Kiltimagh, and the surrounding areas from the 19th  century until recent times. The books remember many of the people, events, places and businesses which combined to shape our lives down through the years with hundreds of historical photographs.

The first volume was launched in November 2009.

The latest volume has dozens of black and white photographs that will bring back memories to Kiltimagh people both at home and abroad.

Stories include The Treenagleeragh Murder, The Kiltimagh Railway Tragedy, Kiltimagh Week of Carnival, 1951, Report on ICA Social, 1963, Serious Crime in Kiltimagh in the 1950’s and the big events on the GAA scene.


Basil Burke is a native of Kiltimagh, who worked abroad during a long and successful career in England, Europe and the Middle East. Retiring home to Kiltimagh, he has devoted his time to researching, collecting and writing material for the Kiltimagh Remembered series of books.
