Mayo Fine Gael TD, John O’Mahony, has confirmed that the threat to the future of 12 beds at Swinford District Hospital has been removed following the announcement of funding for the continuation of critical front line services.

Michael Moynihan T.D., Fianna Fail Spokesperson on Agriculture, Food and The Marine, addressed 250 Mayo farmers in Julians of Midfield on Friday night to discuss the impact on Irish farmers of changes to farm payments under reform of the Common Agricultural Policy and the Government’s decision to cut the Disadvantaged Areas Scheme, REPS and AEOS.

Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Agriculture Michael Moynihan TD will hold a public meeting in Midfield, Swinford, tomorrow night (Friday) to discuss the challenges facing the farming sector in Mayo and across the country.

As part of an Advanced Theory Course for fourth and fifth year students in the School of Architecture at the University of Limerick, a module on Strategic Mapping Processes was undertaken by the students in collaboration with Mayo County Council, which focused on the town of Swinford.
