Minister of State Michael Ring has officially opened the new restaurant and function Room at the Ocean Lodge in Killadoon, Louisburgh.

Speaking at the event, Minister Ring stated: “I am delighted to be here this evening to officially open this wonderful facility.  I would like to compliment Paraic and Bernie O’Malley on the work they have done.”

“Ocean Lodge is fifty years in operation.  It was originally known as the Killadoon Beach Hotel and was built in the 1960s.  It was the first hotel ever built in the Louisburgh area.  Paraic and Berni O’Malley are twenty years in business in Killadoon.

"Ocean Lodge has been refurbished and redecorated to the highest standards.

The completion of the new Restaurant/Function Room illustrates the confidence that they have in the area and in tourism sector.  I have no doubt that the Restaurant/Function Room will be supported, not just by tourists but by local people also.”

“Killadoon is one of the most beautiful places in the world and I must praise the O’Malleys for having the foresight to provide this facility which will enhance the tourism potential of this area,” he added.

Minister Ring concluded by wishing Paraic and Berni every success for the future.
